Season 4

Combining "case du jour" with plot lines that gradually onfold all season long, this is a steady, solid program that definitely rewards regular viewing. The linguistic style of all the characters (Da Vinci-speak) can be a little off-putting, but the regulars, at least, have settled into it, allowing one to focus on the winding stories.

Season 5 (mid-point)

I was pretty frustrated that the “bad cop” arc didn't get resolved last year, but it certainly is the focus this season. The program has further been shaken by switching around the police partnerships (Mick is now working with Angela, while Leo has been paired with the promoted Rose), and having Dominic seriously look into running for Police Chief. I also like that Mick is still dealing with the shooting, even though he wasn't really responsible for it. Very Canadian.
