Charlevoix 2005

Having just visited Paris (February) and Scotland (July) earlier in the year we decided to stay closer to home this time

Charlevoix is a very picturesque area East North-East of Quebec City

Looking south from the North Shore of the St Lawrence you can see traffic on the Seaway and looking south you see the Appalachians.

We visited a Cheese Factory but ate the evidence. Quebec producers have earned a great reputation for good cheese. They are also becoming famous for their duck "foie gras", we also visited a Foie Gras Farm and consumed any evidence of our visit, that required quite the effort because we bought a few pounds of the fatty liver.

We were the only guests at this 100 year old Hotel in St Joseph Sur la Rive and the view from our hotel in Quebec City.

And

As we often do, we purchase a representative piece of art. This painting was done by Laurent Lafleur who is originally from Northern Ontlario (that's where I'm from) but for the last 30 years has resided in the Charlevoix region.
